The theme of this project was ‘boundaries’, and I took the opportunity to highlight the beauty of markers found on various sports courts. I also took a fashion-focused approach, investigating the collision of these two worlds by dividing the 40-page magazine into three sections that addressed the sports uniform, the high fashioning of players off the court, as well the issues of race and masculinity surrounding athletes, respectively.
Visually, I segmented each section tonally with the use of different color palettes and supporting imagery, but unified them through type and the energetic use of repeated lines and symbols that evoke the original inspiration - the sports court.
